A week immersed in Ashtanga Yoga
5th – 11th September 2020
About the Retreat
Spend a week with Ashley to deepen your connection with your Yoga practice, relaxing in the beautiful countryside of Puglia, Italy. This is the first Ashtanga focused retreat Ashley is offering. She is extremely excited to bring this as an immersion to her existing students, of Ashtanga or otherwise and any new students who are welcomed with open arms!
We will start our days with a led Ashtanga Primary Series, practitioners are encouraged to join in the session for as much as they want, completing the closing sequence by themselves if they choose to skip out on any of the sequence!
Practice will be followed by an energizing and colourful breakfast, thoughtfully prepared by the onsite chefs. During the day we have the choice to relax on the private grounds surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, enjoy the outdoor pool, and explore the nearby historical towns and beaches.
Late afternoons will be spent either practicing Yin and Restorative Yoga with Pranayama (breathing) and meditation – a perfect compliment to the Yang of the dynamic Ashtanga system – or workshopping techniques for more complicated postures and exploring 2nd series, offering an open Q & A to everyone.
In the evenings we will enjoy a delicious vegetarian/vegan dinner together.
We are situated just a short drive from the stunning Adriatic Coastline, Trulli houses are dotted along the roads of the countryside, and UNESCO sites are close if you wish to explore outside of the villa. Taxis and car rentals are relatively inexpensive. All nourishing vegetarian/vegan meals are included in your stay.

Accommodation and Facilities
Our retreat centre is set in 2.5 acres of grounds in a valley filled with olive and almond groves.
Accommodation consists of six twin rooms and one single/double room all with private ensuite bathroom. All rooms have been renovated to a high standard using locally sourced materials, to create a luxurious yet simple and understated feel. A large outdoor courtyard will provide the main communal eating space, and several outdoor terraces offer a place to relax in the sun or the shade.
Situated at the heart of the complex, the swimming pool acts like a colourful meeting point – with the blue water combining with the green olive trees and the red soil.
The international airport at Brindisi is approximately 40 minutes drive away and Bari is further to the north approximately 55 minutes drive. There are direct flights from London to both airports. Hiring a car in Puglia is relatively inexpensive and provides a great way to explore the surrounding countryside, local historical towns and beaches. Both Bari and Brindisi airports have a large selection of hire car companies including Avis and Hertz. It is recommended to book a car before your arrival. Alternatively, we can arrange a taxi to collect you on your arrival.

Ashley started taking Yoga classes in 2010 at the Sattva School of Yoga in Edmonton, Canada. She agreed to give yoga a try, and was completely shocked by the profound effects the practice had on her mental & physical wellbeing. She wishes to share this life changing practice with anyone wanting to make positive changes in their lives. She believes the only prerequisite for establishing a yoga practice is the desire for change.
Ashley has a Genetics degree specializing in Cancer, with a minor in Psychology and Anatomy. Her classes are strong, supportive and inclusive. She places a great deal of emphasis on connecting deep within your own body, using the breath as a tool to distract the mind, and fascial tissue lines of awareness to understand postures on a very personal level, all to tap into your inner potential and true Self. Ashley teaches from a place of inspiration of multiple lineages of yoga, her main teachers are Rameen Peyrow & Jade Ponech (Sattva Yoga), Keshava Murthy, Hamish Hendry, Louise Newton & Corrie Ananda Preece (Ashtanga Yoga), Emi Tull, Mark Kan, Ambra Vallo (Dharma Yoga).
